As we approach the end of tax season it is important to get your personal tax returns and if self-employed your HST returns filed and paid on-time to avoid interest and penalties. Below is a list of important dates:

Payment deadline for all personal tax returns (including self-employed) is April 30.

Filing deadline for personal tax returns is April 30 unless you are a small business owner of an unincorporated business then it is June 15.

HST annual filers follow the same rules above with respect to deadlines. If you miss a filing deadline CRA can assess a late-filing penalty on top of any balance owing.
