It has been 11 years since Kate Taylor was taken away from us suddenly. I met her while I was working at Howie & Partners, a local accounting firm in Windsor, Ontario. She actually started a month after I had started at the firm. If I ever had an accounting question and a manager or partner was not available, she would be the first one I would approach as she was always willing to help out. Kate was a very caring person and a hard worker.
A scholarship was setup in Kate’s honor almost 10 years ago. This scholarship is given to an Odette Accounting Society member who is considered a well-rounded and hard-working individual with a determined spirit. This scholarship hits home with me as this is the type of student I was where I may not have been top of the class mark wise during my university days, but I was always a hard worker trying to do my best to achieve my goals.
