In the past I have shared how I am a business advisor with WE Tech Alliance’s Venture Success Team. One of their resources for intermediate and beginner social media users is the social media sidekicks. Another initiative WE Tech has is called the Social Media Superhero’s. From that initiative, Nick Russell of Russtek Media and Nichole Howson of AIM Social Media Marketing lead this networking group. If you are running your businesses’ social media accounts, they provide some great and helpful tips.

I have taken advantage of their meetups both online and in-person and I have gained valuable information for Oldridge Accounting Professional Corporation and now Automaxx. I have a social media manager for Oldridge Accounting, Russtek Media, but I also sprinkle in my own posts from time to time. The Sidekicks post regularly on current social media trends and issues they see regularly.

Some insights that I have gained from the group include the use of hashtags, spamming, advertising and running promotions on the various social media platforms. The Sidekicks can also be quite comical at times such as their discussion about TikTok during the last Q&A session which can be viewed in their Facebook group. I would highly recommend tuning in if you want to game some extra insights into your own social media accounts.
