In October of 2017 I launched Oldridge Accounting as a Cloud-Based Accounting practice!
When I started, the practice was initially a part-time practice where I was performing most of my work in the evenings and on weekends. I was very lucky to have the flexibility of working at the family business, Automaxx as their controller where it allowed for meetings during the daytime if needed. The practice has now been operating full-time since the start of September 2020.
Along the way, I have created some awesome relationships through a few local organizations. I became a member of the WE-Tech Alliance‘s venture success team where I have helped local entrepreneurs with their small businesses. I am currently the treasurer of the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women, a local charity that provides safe shelter for every woman and family every night; no exceptions. I am also the past treasurer of the Red Shoe Society Windsor-Essex.
My amazing and supportive clients have had a big hand in the last three years as well! Some of these clients I have actually had for 5 years now as they were my clients that I brought into the practice of my previous employer. They have been awesome to work with, provided me with referrals, and have given me positive feedback and reviews. Thank you so much!!
My relationships led me to doing some things beyond my comfort zone. I was invited to speak at a local conference, taught a small seminar and even spoke on a podcast. These were a little nerve-wracking at times, but I learned that it was all possible if I put my mind to it.
Lastly, I want to thank my family and friends. Everyone has been so supportive! That love was really felt during the Biz X Magazine voting process as I was getting numerous compliments and well wishes. I am still so blown away and humbled by the response.
Thank you!
Here is to many years to come!
